On the Internet, low pay for freelance writers are commonplace, particularly on freelancing job posting sites, like GetAFreelancer.com, Scriptlance.com and ODesk.com. These sites, including GAF, offers jobs to freelancers, that pay as low as $.50 per 400-500 word article, which is very low to write an article of that length. To add insult to injury, the service buyers on these sites, demand top-quality copy-written articles and will not pay you unless they are of that quality. On ODesk.com, they have hourly jobs posted, that start as low as $1 an hour! Come on, people! One dollar an hour to perform virtual assistant tasks for a service buyer from this site? On Scriptlance.com, the pay for articles and data entry work, is not better, with the pay for articles, going for as low as $1-$2 each for 400-550 word minimum articles!

It is not right for these freelancers, who are new and inexperienced, to be offered such low paying jobs. I, myself, worked on a project, that paid $.50 an article, for 5 – 400 minimum word articles a day, which was posted in an Indian family magazine! So you see where this is going and I hope that all you young and inexperienced freelance writers will not fall into this trap and work for slave-like wages. There are other sites on the web, that can help you find better work for better pay, such as GoFreelance.com and Onlinewritingjobs.com, where you will find higher paying job opportunities.
